The A's stand in solidarity with the Black community against racism and injustice.
In observance and celebration of Black History Month in February, we will make donations to the Oakland African American Museum and Library; Marcus Books, the nation's oldest Black-owned independent bookstore that is celebrating its 60th year; and the Dr. Huey P. Newton Foundation, a cultural institution in Oakland that preserves and promulgates the history, ideals, and legacy of the Black Panther Party. Throughout the month, the A's will also use their social channels to foster conversations and highlight our Black players, alumni, and executives, local nonprofits, community figures, and local Black-owned businesses.
The A's will continue to support, contribute, and amplify local organizations that work tirelessly to serve the needs of the Black community in Oakland and beyond. Since 2020, the Oakland A's have contributed more than $385,000 to social justice organizations. Learn more about local resources and organizations here.
